What is Family Yoga?

Family yoga sessions are a great chance to spend some quality time together. Come along with your ‘little one’ ready to play, have fun and make stronger connections as you learn new skills together. Grandparents, aunts, uncles etc. all welcome too - there is no need for any previous yoga experience.

Like our kid’s classes whilst we explore different aspects of yoga and poses we use lots of props, go on yoga journeys, play yoga inspired games and explore strengthening our breath. Classes are not quiet like ‘traditional’ yoga, we have music and we make lots of noise at certain times.

During the session some activities are as a whole group — perhaps creating human mandalas! Children will also work with their adult(s) throughout the session. Together you will stretch, create partner and acroyoga poses and having the opportunity to cuddle up next to each other for calm relaxation at the end of the session.

What are the benefits of family yoga?

Family yoga sessions bring all the benefits of children’s yoga to the whole family, and into the home. It is a great opportunity to have fun and get moving together without other distractions.

Communication between family is developed throughout the session with lots of physical and eye contact. The level playing field of the child and parents learning new skills together can encourage children’s self-confidence.
